ELMIRA — Newark Valley grad Mackenzie Malone scored Elmira College’s lone goal of the game Wednesday in a 9-1 Empire 8 Conference loss to Houghton College.

Former NV teammate Katie Berghorn scored a goal for the Highlanders.

Malone, a freshman, started all 12 games and made her only shot on goal. A defender/midfielder, she made four defensive saves for the Soaring Eagles.

Elmira College finished the season 0-7 in E8 play and 2-10 overall.
