HS VOLLEYBALL: CANDOR COMPETES IN PERONE TOURNAMENT (2023-10-22) Tioga County Sports Report
HORSEHEADS — Candor advanced to the Gold Bracket of the Patti Perone Volleyball Tournament Saturday.
In pool play, the Coyotes defeated Tioga, 25-22 and 26-24, and split with City Honors out of Buffalo, winning 25-17 and losing 25-23.
Candor went on to face Portville from southwestern New York in the first round of bracket play. The Panthers, ranked No. 1 in the state in Class C by the New York Volleyball Coaches Association, won the game and went on to win the overall championship.
Candor hosts Sayre Monday in a non-conference match, then plays SVE Friday at 5 p.m. at TC3 for the IAC Small School title.
