TIOGA COUNTY — It’s a busy day in Owego as the River Hawks host their annual cross country invitational and the 1st Annual Julia Zepkowski Memorial Volleyball Tournament.

CROSS COUNTRY
Owego will be joined by other locals to include Candor, Newark Valley and S-VE.

The timeline for the invitational is as follows: 9:20 a.m. - Modified Boys 9:40 a.m. - Modified Girls 10:00 a.m. - JV Boys 10:40 a.m. - Varsity Girls 11:20 a.m. - Varsity Boys Noon - Kids Fun Run (1.3K)

VOLLEYBALL
The varsity tournament (8 teams) will be held in the high school and middle school gyms while the JV tourney (12 teams) will take place in the middle school gym and at the Tioga County Boys & Girls Club.

Along with Owego, Candor will be competing.

Pool play begins at 8:30 a.m.

FOOTBALL
Newark Valley heads up Interstate 88 to take on Harpursville/Afton in battle between teams seeking their first victory of the season.

GIRLS SOCCER
SVEC is hosting Whitney Point at 10 a.m.
