SECTION IV FOOTBALL: SVEC MATCHES 2022 WIN TOTAL (2023-09-22)

SPENCER — The SVEC football team matched last year’s win total with a 25-6 victory over Deposit/Hancock in Section IV Division V action Friday night.

The Eagles, now 4-0 on the season, scored all the points they would need in the first quarter.

Quarterback Jacek Teribury ran for a 23-yard touchdown on SVEC’s opening possession with 7:35 on the clock to make it 6-0.

With 4:38 remaining in the opening period, Teribury broke free for a 49-yard TD. Andrea Lopresti converted the PAT kick to make it 13-0.

Logan Aman’s 4-yard TD run with 3:20 remaining in the half pushed the SVEC advantage to 19-0.

Aman would tack on his second TD run of the night, a 5-yarder, at 4:40 of the third quarter to give the Eagles a 25-0 cushion.

Deposit got on the scoreboard with 3:50 to go in the game when Blake Fortunato connected with Greyson Thomas on a 4-yard pass.

SVEC racked up 442 yards total offense, 385 of it coming on the ground.

Teribury rushed for 171 yards on 10 carries and completed two passes for another 57 yards. Aman carried the pigskin 12 times for 69 yards and John Johnston had 10 hauls for 56 yards. Parker Robinson added 43 yards on three runs and Shane Neal tacked on 42 yards on four carries.

Aman had one reception for 35 yards and Caden McFall caught one pass for 22 yards.

D/H had 272 yards offense and turned the ball over four times.

Johnston led the defense with 10 tackles, Teribury had nine and Owen Huizinga added six. Teribury had both interceptions while McFall and Charlie Hilbert had the fumble recoveries.

SVEC hosts Delhi next Friday.
