SECTION IV FOOTBALL: TOP-RANKED M-E ROLLS OVER OWEGO (2023-09-17)

ENDWELL — Top-ranked and two-time defending state Class B champion Maine-Endwell cranked out 10 touchdowns as it rolled to a 69-0 Section IV Division III victory over Owego Saturday.
The River Hawks went backwards after receiving the opening kickoff and M-E needed just two plays to score its first points on a Vincent Mancini 51-yard touchdown run.
After another Owego three-and-out possession, the Spartans tallied on a Jaden Branch 28-yard TD run.
Landon Rollo added a 71-yard dash, then Branch returned an interception for a TD.
Austin Nyschot connected with Mancini for a 57-yard TD pass and Preston Ocker rounded out the half with a TD run to give the Spartans a 41-0 cushion.
Nyschot got the M-E offense going in the second half with a 38-yard TD pass to Rollo.
Following the next Hawks possession, Cade Raleigh scored from 46 yards out.
Kessiah White and Raleigh added the final two TDs for M-E, which piled up 470 yards offense, churning 375 of them out on the ground.
Owego (1-1, 0-1) hosts Schuyler (1-2, 0-1 Division IV) Friday night.
