IAC CROSS COUNTRY: CANDOR, S-VE COMPETE IN 6-TEAM MEET (2023-09-15)

Tioga County Sports Report
ELMIRA — The Candor and S-VE cross country teams competed in a six-team IAC meet at the Newtown Battlefield Tuesday.

The Coyotes’ Ayasha Schweiger won the varsity girls race with a time of 25:29.69 while the Panthers’ John Garrison won the varsity boys event in 18:52.09.

“We had a nice showing from all three of our teams,” S-VE coach Kyle Holmes said of his varsity squads and modified girls. “This was a hard course for all runners involved, the kids pushed themselves on this one.

“It’s great to see the modified girls running well, as well as our varsity teams improving. The younger runners are starting to build their confidence, and the older ones are leading by example with their work ethic. It’s a great team to work with and be around.”
