NEWFIELD — Candor made the short trip to Newfield and came away with a 3-0 IAC Small School victory Thursday.

The scores were 25-21, 25-16 and 25-19.

Phoebe Swartz posted a double-double, handing out 18 assists and serving up 10 points. She also had four digs. Luci contributed 14 points and four kills; Nicola Soper chipped in with six points (3 aces), eight kills and four digs; Grace Handy added seven points (3 aces) and three kills; Kate Stouffer had six kills, two digs and one block; and Emmi Makie tacked on five kills, three digs and a block.

It was a scrappy match with some good rallies at both the varsity and JV levels.

Candor will compete in the Tioga tournament Saturday.

JV: Candor won, 2-1. After dropping the first set, 25-14, the Coyotes took the next two, 25-14 and 25-22.

Malley Heidl handed out nine assists and had one kill; Hazel Ray contributed six kills; Tracy Reynold added four kills and Cyan Davis doled out five assists.
