ELMIRA — Candor grad Asia Curkendall is back on the volleyball court at Elmira College — along with former Owego and Soaring Eagles standout Savannah Terry, who takes over as head coach.

Curkendall, a junior setter/right side who also plays softball for the Soaring Eagles, competed in all 28 matches last season. She recorded a team-high 603 assists and was second in digs with 183.

Elmira College opens the season at home Sept. 1-2 with a quad match. It will mark the head coaching debut of Terry, who returns to Elmira after a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Division III Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.

During her playing days for the Eagles, Terry earned Empire 8 All-Conference and All-Tournament honors in 2019, and a first team All-Conference honor in 2020. She played in 103 matches for EC, recording nearly 600 kills, and also had 187 total blocks and 820 points.
