YOUTH FOOTBALL: STYFC SEASON KICKS OFF AUG. 26-27 (2023-08-09)

TIOGA COUNTY — The Southern Tier Youth Football Conference kicks off Aug. 26 with two Tioga County teams in action. The other three county teams will begin the season Aug. 27.

There are 20 communities from the Southern Tier and two from Pennsylvania involved in the STYFC this season, including two each from Owego, Elmira, Susquehanna Valley and Vestal.

In addition to the two Owego teams, Newark Valley, SVEC and Tioga are also representing Tioga County with one team each.

The regular season will last seven weeks with playoffs beginning the weeknd of Oct. 14-15.

Games will be played Saturdays and Sundays. The “C” division plays at 3:30 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday, the “B” division starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, and the “A” division begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 Sunday.
