COLLEGE FOOTBALL: OWEGO'S ARMSTRONG HEADING TO ALFRED U (2023-06-12)

OWEGO — Nate Armstrong has dabbled in several different sports during his high school career — baseball, bowling, lacrosse, wrestling — but the one sport which was always a constant was football.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound two-way lineman will keep that niche going at the college level as he was part of a group signing Tuesday which included a dozen student-athletes.
“I chose Alfred University because I think it will be a really good fit for me,” Armstrong said. “I love the energy Alfred U brings and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
Armstrong, an All-Tioga County first-team and All-Region third team selection this past fall, will join Indian teammate Steven Bidwell as a member of the Saxons.
“I have so many plans to make to bring to Alfred University football,” Armstrong said. “(I) just have to keep getting better and grow into the family that I will be joining.”
He will major in Business Administration at Alfred.
