TIOGA COUNTY — The Section IV track & field state qualifiers wrap up and Tioga County athletes will vie for spots in the NYSPHSAA Track & Field Championships.

Athletes from Candor, Newark Valley, Owego and S-VE are among those competing in the first day of the state qualifier at Union-Endicott.

The top two finishers in each event advance to the state meet, plus the possibility of additional qualifiers.

Candor’s Kara Morse and Chenango Valley’s Delaney Williams, both of whom have cleared 5-2, are the top high jumpers.

In running events, Owego siblings Jaelyn Chrysler and Jace Stewart are seeded third in the Division II 1500- and 1600-meter runs, respectively.

Competition begins at 5 p.m.
