TIOGA COUNTY — A handful of track & field athletes will compete for state berths while the Owego flag football team plays for a sectional title. The week wraps up with a pair of golfers playing practice rounds to kick off state golf championships.

WEDNESDAY
Owego hosts Chenango Forks under the lights (7:30 p.m.) for the Section IV Division II flag football championship.

Athletes from Candor, Newark Valley, Owego and S-VE open the Section IV Division II Track & Field Championships at Union-Endicott, seeking spots at the state meet.

THURSDAY
The final day of the Section IV Division II Track & Field Championships take place at U-E.

SATURDAY
Practice rounds for the state golf tournaments take place at Mark Twain Golf Course (boys) in Elmira and the Edison Club in Rexford (girls).

Competition will be held Sunday and Monday with Candor’s Jacob Banks heading back to Twain for a second time and SVEC’s Lauren Gillette making her debut in Rexford.
