COLLEGE BASKETBALL: NEWARK VALLEY’S GRAHAM SIGNS WITH TC3 (2023-05-27)

NEWARK VALLEY — Newark Valley's Jasmine Graham recently signed her National Letter of Intent May 19 to continue her basketball career at Tompkins Cortland Community College next fall.

An IAC all-star and honorable mention all-state selection this past season, she averaged 9.3 points, five rebounds and 2.6 steals per game.

Graham, also named to the All-Tioga County first team, finished her high school career with a 46-3 record, contributing to teams that won two league titles, two sectional titles, one regional title and one state finals appearance.

“I chose TC3 because they gave me an opportunity to continue my basketball career and it is close to my family,” she said.

Graham feels her experience with the Cardinals’ basketball program and her determination at both ends of the court will be a plus for the Panthers.

“I think I am aggressive on the court both on offense and defense,” she said. “I like to drive to the basket and get after it on ‘D.’

“I hope the experience I have gained in high school can benefit my new team.”

“Jasmine is a proven scorer and winner,” NV head coach Greg Schweiger said. “She is a slasher and dasher on offense and on defense. She is a big athletic guard that can cause problems for the opposing team.

“She has been a solid contributor to two of the best teams we have had here at NV so I think if she works hard, she can contribute to the TC3 team. I am excited to see her play and further her education.”

She will be studying athletic training.
