SECTION IV FLAG FOOTBALL: OWEGO CRUSHES NORWICH, ADVANCES TO CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (2023-05-26)

NORWICH — Kylie Grippen threw for five touchdowns to multiple receivers as Owego crushed Norwich, 39-19, in the Section IV Flag Football semifinals Thursday evening.
Grippen went 15-for-20 for 242 yards.
More than half her throws were reeled in by Taylor Dalton, who had eight receptions for 151 yards and a pair of TDs. She also rushed for one TD.
Maddie Bennett caught two TD passes and Cadia Fain had two catches for 56 yards and a score.
The defense was again impressive as well.
Alex Aubel, Dalton and Bella Silvestri grabbed one interception apiece.
Aubel led the Indians with five tackles and Olivia Dodge had four.
Owego (8-2) takes on Chenango Forks (7-4) in the championship game next week. The Blue Devils upset previously unbeaten Maine-Endwell in the other semi.
The game is expected to be played at Cristy J. Valvo Stadium with the date and time to be determined.
The Indians won the regular season meeting with CF, 20-8.
