SECTION IV SOFTBALL: SVEC SEASON ENDS AGAINST TOP-SEEDED EDISON (2023-05-23)

ELMIRA HEIGHTS — The Edison softball team's bats spoke loudly as the top-seeded Spartans defeated SVEC, 13-1 in five innings in the Section IV Class C quarterfinals Tuesday.

The Eagles’ lone tally was a home run from Raegan Sudnikovich, who also hit a double.

Edison scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning to take control of the game

The Spartans also scored four runs in the third inning and tacked on five in the fifth.

Emily Aiello was 2-for-3 at the plate for Edison, including a 3-run walk-off home run.

Mariana Jones-Frosolone went 3-for-3 with a double and was the winning pitcher, striking out eight batters.

Gabby Milazzo, Maddison Pack and Maycie Bennett had two hits apiece for Edison, ranked seventh in the state.

Emma Maggs, Kailey Ripley and Maliyah McIver all had hits for Edison in the game.
