COLLEGE GOLF: S-VE’S GILLETTE SIGNS WITH LEBANON VALLEY COLLEGE (2023-05-17)

SPENCER — S-VE golfer Nathan Gillette will be swinging his clubs for Lebanon Valley College after recently signing to attend the private Division III school.

LVC is located in Annville, Pennsylvania, a town of less than 5,000 people. The school enrollment is under 1,700 students.

Gillette should feel comfortable in the small, rural area where he was easily drawn to the Dutchmen’s golf program

“I chose Lebanon Valley College because I have developed a really good connection with the golf coach, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and area around campus,” Gillette said. “Lebanon Valley was also my top choice that had both the major I intend on pursuing and a Division III golf program.

Gillette believes his focus on the sport will be beneficial to the Lebanon golf program.

“I can offer the program my strong dedication and work ethic that has helped put me in this position to be able to play college golf,” he said.

“Nathan is a grinder,” SVEC boys golf coach Joe Darrow said. “He will work harder than anyone else on his team at LVC. Nathan spends hours on the range trying to get better and it shows each round he plays. That extra work that he puts into his game will translate well at the next level.”

Gillette was part of the SVEC program that won 19 consecutive matches before the merger with Candor ended this year. He has qualified for the Section IV Boys Golf Medalist Championship, which will be held Thursday and Saturday.

He will be majoring in Physical Therapy at LVC.
