COLLEGE LACROSSE: TC3 BOASTS OWEGO FLAVOR (2023-04-06)

Tioga County Sports Report
DRYDEN — The Tompkins Cortland Community College men's lacrosse team boasts a distinct Owego flavor with four grads on its roster.

Former Indians Cameron Doane, Ben Miller, and Mike and Nick Wasyln are part of the Panther lineup which is off to a 2-1 start this season.

Doane is a 6-foot-4 sophomore midfielder and Mike Wasyln is a 6-2 sophomore defender. Miller and Nick Wasyln are both 6-2 freshmen with Miller playing midfielder and Wasyln on defense.

Miller, who went to college online for one year and took one year off, doesn’t appear to have slacked off away from the 10-man ride.

He is leading the Panthers in scoring with 15 points on 14 goals and an assist. He has at least three goals in each game, including eight in a 27-0 rout of Mohawk Valley Community College.

Miller is currently second in Region 3 in goals per game average and was named TC3’s most recent Athlete of the Week.

The Panthers opened the season with a 12-4 win over Finger Lakes Community College, then blasted MVCC.

TC3 held a 61-4 advantage in shots and won 22 of 28 faceoffs.

The Panthers suffered their first setback Sunday falling to Region 3 powerhouse Monroe Community College, 12-6.

TC3 hosts Herkimer College (5-3) in a non-conference contest Friday at 4 p.m.
