ENDWELL — Autumn Hankey and Lexi Herceg scored five goals apiece to lead Owego to a 14-1 rout of Maine-Endwell in Section IV girls lacrosse action Monday night.

Madison McEvoy started the scoring frenzy ar 23:20 with the first of her three tallies, then Herceg pushed the lead to 3-0 with back-to-back goals at 21:30 and 19:05.

Hankey chalked up consecutive goals at 18:51 and 14:48, giving the Indians a 5-0 advantage before M-E could get on the board. Ava Baranyk notched the Spartans’ only goal at 14:31.

Owego would respond with five more goals before intermission.

Herceg scored at 13:48, then Hankey found the back of the net at 12:28, followed by McEvoy at 5:10.

Oriah Boland got in on the scoring with a goal with 46.9 seconds remaining in the half and Hankey closed out the first-half barrage at 33.8 seconds, making it a 10-1 contest.

McEvoy started the second-half scoring at 23:39 and Herceg added another goal at 13:05. Hankey and Herceg added their final goals at 10:23 and 3:40, respectively.

McEvoy had eight ground balls and created four turnovers. Hankey had six ground balls, Herceg had five, Boland added four, Ashleigh Steele had three, and Stella Doty tacked on two ground balls and forced four turnovers.

Shannon Maslin made seven saves in goal.

Owego hosts Whitney Point at 6 p.m. Thursday.
