COLLEGE BASKETBALL: S-VE GRAD DUTRA CONTRIBUTES AT BROOME (2023-03-14)

BINGHAMTON — S-VE grad Sophia Dutra saw action in all 19 games, including four starts, in her freshman season at SUNY Broome Community College.

She averaged 7.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.2 assists per game for the Hornets.

Dutra scored a season-high 16 points on two occasions, a 58-40 victory over Finger Lakes Community College and a 68-62 loss to Tompkins Cortland Community College. She also had a personal best four 3-pointers against TC3.

The win over FLCC was the 5-foot-9 guard/forward’s first collegiate start.

Dutra also posted highs of 11 rebounds in a 61-46 win over Word of Life / Davis College and nine blocks in a 57-48 loss to TC3.

Broome posted a 6-13 record and was 3-7 in Mid-State Athletic Conference play.
