IAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: BUNCE LEADS S-VE TO SENIOR NIGHT WIN OVER CANDOR (2023-01-27)

SPENCER — Abby Bunce celebrated Senior Night by pumping out 27 points to lead S-VE to a 53-21 victory over Candor Friday.

The Indians would grab a 10-9 first-quarter edge despite seven points from Bunce, but she would tack on eight more in a 14-4 second-quarter surge as the Panthers took a 26-11 advantage at the half.

She added another dozen markers in the second half as S-VE outscored Candor 14-4 in the third period and 14-5 in the fourth.

Bunce went 5-for-6 at the free throw line, and also contributed five rebounds and four steals.

Fellow senior Marah Cooper recorded six points, six boards and five assists; and classmate Taya Sousa recorded two points, two steals, one assist and one rebound.

Gabby Evans registered six points, two assists, two steals and two rebounds; Aubrie Kastenhuber had four points, four assists and two steals; Raegan Sudnikovich pitched in with four points, three assists, two rebounds ana a steal; Adriena Farmer had four points and a steal; and Faith Brenchley tacked on two assists, two steals, a block and a rebound.

For Candor, Nicola Soper chalked up six points, seven rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocks; Hazel Ray contributed six points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal; Emmi Makie added five points, three rebound and one steal; and Malley Heidl had four points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

On Tuesday, Candor visits Groton while S-VE stays home to face Odessa-Montour.
