STAC BOYS SWIMMING & DIVING: OWEGO PICKS UP PAIR OF VICTORIES (2023-01-22)

NORWICH / OWEGO — The Owego boys swimming and diving team split a pair of STAC meet recently, defeating Norwich on the road and Susquehanna Valley at home.

Owego 68, Norwich 55
Tyler Krom won two individual events while Magavin Allen, Kyle Riegel and Christian Hodges added one victory apiece.

Krom took the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.65 seconds and the 100 free in 56.32 seconds.

Allen posted a time of 2:23.86 in the 200 individual medley.

Riegel captured the 100 butterfly in 1:13.87.

Hodges posted a time of 5:48.83 in the 500 free.

Allen, Riegel, Krom and Hodges won the 200 medley relay (2:04.2).

Owego’s second-place swimmers were Jaydin Brainard in the 200 free (3:02.65), Hodges in the 100 backstroke (1:10.13), and Matthew Recu, Riegel, Vincent Kneller and Javan Belokur in the 200 free relay (2:40.9).

Kyle Riegel was third in the 50 free (:26.94) and Connor Riegel placed third in the 200 free (3:06.04).

Kyle Riegel, Hodges, Allen, Krom also recorded the top time in the 400 free relay (4:02.67), but swam it as an exhibition event.

Allen (1:18.96), Belokur (1:37.8) and Connor Riegel (1:52.17) finished 1-2-3 in the 100 breaststroke, each swimming it as an exhibition.

Brainard won the 200 free in 2:49.81.

Allen was victorious in the 200 IM with a 2:26.81 and the 100 fly in 1:11.82.

Kyle Riegel took the 50 free in :26:58.

Krom won the 100 free with a :54.88

Hodges captured the 500 free in 5:53.92.

Allen, Kyle Riegel, Krom and Hodges won the 200 medley relay (2:01.4) and the 200 free relay (1:49.55).

Belokur was second in the 200 free (2:51.05) and Kneller was the runner-up in the 100 fly (1:40.02).

Brainard, Belokur, Kneller and Connor Riegel were third in the 200 MR with a 2:43.61.

Kyle Riegel (1:18.07), Hodges (1:22.18) and Kneller (1:37.51) were 1-2-3 in the 100 breast as exhibition. Krom (1:12.99) and Brainard (1:29.52) had the first and third fastest times in the 100 back, also in exhibition.

Owego (2-3) travels to Windsor (5-3) Tuesday.
