NEWARK VALLEY — Apparently, the number 13 is not unlucky for the Newark Valley girls basketball team. Three Cardinals scored 13 points each as NV doubled up Trumansburg, 72-36, Friday evening.
Hayley Beebe, Cha Gardner and Jasmine Graham each pumped out a baker’s dozen in the win.
The Cardinals raced out to a 29-9 lead after one quarter and never looked back in improving to 14-0 on the season.
They led 46-16 at the break and 55-25 heading into the final stanza.
Graham’s scoring included a trio of 3-pointers. She also added two rebounds, two steals and an assist. Gardner contributed five rebounds, five assists and three steals; and Beebe added five steals, four assists and two boards.
Adrianna Finta put up a dozen points, including two treys, to go with six steals, a block, two assists and two rebounds. Aubrey Kwiatkowski had a pair of 3-balls as well, and finished with eight points, two steals and a rebound.
Liv Short had five points, three boards, an assist and a steal; Kalyna Graham added four points, three rebounds, two steals and an assist; Faith Payne had four points and an assist; and Adriana Rich and Kylee Carrier tacked on three and two boards, respectively.
NV hosts Union-Endicott Wednesday.
