SPENCER — Newfield jumped four spots in the Class C state rankings Tuesday and the No. 6 Trojans showed their worthiness with a 76-38 victory over S-VE in IAC South Small School boys basketball action.

Newfield, which upset then 5th-ranked Moravia by 19 points Friday, erupted for 35 third-quarter points to put the game out of reach, building a 61-25 cushion.

The Trojans led 11-4 after a quarter and 26-14 at the half.

Jalen Hardison scored 15 points to lead Newfield, Hezekiah McCoy contributed 14 and Brody Jackson added 13 with a pair of 3-pointers.

Hunter Harmon and Pavel Jofre hit for 13 points apiece for the Panthers.

Jacek Stahl added six, Caden McFall tacked on five and Nathan Gillette had one point.

S-VE visits 15th-ranked Moravia Thursday.
