STAC BOWLING: OWEGO BOYS SWEEP NORWICH, GIRLS DROP 3-2 VERDICT (2022-12-02)

NORWICH — Evan O'Hara and Grayden Stanton rolled 600 series to lead the Owego boys bowling team to a 5-0 sweep of Norwich in STAC action Thursday.

On the girls’ side, the Indians dropped a 3-2 decision.

BOYS
O’Hara posted scores of 253, 220 and 210 en route to a 683 series while Stanton’s 602 included a match-high game of 267.

Will Waldron contributed a 230-596 and Connor Kotski shot 193-575. Branden Ward rolled one game, a 179, and Nate Armstrong added a 121.

The Indians won by scores of 940-738, 1025-797 and 906-787 to take the total pinfall, 2871-2322.

GIRLS
Owego dropped the opening game, 686-623, but won the next two, 670-653 and 615-609. Unfortunately for the Indians, the score differential wasn't enough to give them the total pinfall as the Purple Tornado went on to win, 1948-1908.

Haley Stephens paced the Indians with a 182-485. Elizabeth Riegel scored a 149-405, Victoria Riegle pitched in with a 145-387 and Tori Koylarz added a 130-378.

Elaina Anschutz and Aubrey Garrison both recorded singles game scores of 112.

JV BOYS
The junior Indians posted a 5-0 win and had an 1834-1658 total pinfall advantage, They won the individual games, 599-518, 621-601 and 614-539,

Devan Card led the team with a 176-451 showing. Aden Dinkins added a 140-354 and Peyton Miller had a 120-343.

Dominick Curley, Nate Sawyer and Aaron Klett bowled two games each. Their high games were 156, 126 and 96, respectively.

Owego hosts Windsor Monday at Owego Bowl.
