NEWARK VALLEY — The Newark Valley girls bowling team broke into the win column Thursday, sweeping Lansing, 4-0, in a tightly-contested match. Meanwhile, the NV boys recorded their second straight sweep to improve to 11-1.

BOYS
Brandon Eynon, John Fiacco and John Mincher rolled 200-plus games to lead the Cardinals to a 2710-2314 victory.

Eynon recorded a 209-551, Fiacco shot a 223-550 and Mincher added a 201-525.

Owen Sailus posted a 187-504, Tony Zukowski scored a 171-492 and Jon Umiker tacked on a 198-486.

NV won the individual games, 886-648, 880-843 and 944-823.

Michael Day paced the Bobcats with a 213-523.

GIRLS
Scoring was close throughout the match with the Cardinals winning the individual games, 599-596, 577-572 and 635-623, and taking the total pinfall, 1811-1791.

Rachel Hartman registered a 145-415, Alyssa Brown had a 150-399, Casidy Downey chipped in with a 138-327, Madi Davis rolled a 128-332, Lexi Rosengrant had a 110-299 and Abigail Dufresne had a 121-292.

Lansing’s Keara Armstrong was the top bowler at 201-559.

NV visits Elmira Notre Dame Tuesday.
