WATKINS GLEN — The Newark Valley boys bowling improved to 7-1 on the season Tuesday, defeating Watkins Glen, 4-0.
The Senecas won the girls match, 4-0.
BOYS
Last week, John Umiker set the pace for the Cardinals. This time, it was John Fiacco’s turn. He rolled a 663 series which included games of 225, 220 and 218.
John Mincher contributed a 183-489, Tony Zukowski rolled a 175-458 and Brandon Eynon shot 143-413.
Umiker had a 147-384 and Laine Underwood added a 123-358.
NV won by scores of 769-675, 806-620 and 838-608, and took the total pinfall, 2413-1903.
Watkins was led by Brett Cullen Pike’s 490 series and Mykel Cody’s 181 game.
In exhibition, NV’s Owen Sailus had a 175-467.
GIRLS
Watkins Glen won by scores of 670-559, 637-578 and 626-489, taking the total pinfall, 1922-1626.
Ava Cowan rolled 170-440 and Aubrey Kellogg added a 176-412 to lead the home team.
For NV, Rachel Hartman shot 139-386, Alyssa Brown had a 149-343 and Lexi Rosengrant tacked on a 136-319.
Casidy Downey posted a 103-290, Madi Davis recorded a 113-266 and Layla Dufresne added a 258 series.
NV faces Lansing Thursday in its home opener at Cardinal Lanes.
