STAC GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVING: OWEGO’S KATCHUK NAMED ALL-CONFERENCE; THREE TEAMMATES EARN ALL-DIVISION HONORS (2022-11-24)

OWEGO — Owego diver Kaelyn Katchuk has been selected to the STAC Central / East All-Conference girls swimming & diving team.
Three of her teammates earned divisional honors for their efforts in the pool.
Katchuk, a sophomore, won her third consecutive Section IV Class B 1-meter title this season, setting pool and meet records in the process.
Katchuk advanced to the state championships where she medaled with a 10th-place finish.
The Indians’ youth stood out this season with three other team members being named to the Central All-Division squad.
They are freshman Olivia Schrader, 8th-grader Ava Murphy, and 7th-grader Ayla Young.
Schrader competed in several disciplines to include the 200-yard individual medley, 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, and the 200 medley and 200 free relays.
Likewise, Murphy swam in a variety of events to include the 200 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 100 butterfly, 100 back, 100 breast, and the 200 medley and 200 free relays.
Young competed in diving, placing second in seven of Owego's eight meets.
