COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: CANDOR GRAD HORNICK EARNS D-3, E-8 HONORS (2022-11-22)

ONEONTA — Candor grad Braelyn Hornick has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III Region 3 Honorable Mention Team.

The Hartwick College sophomore setter was previously selected to the 2022 Empire 8 Women's Volleyball First Team and was chosen the E-8 Player of the Year.

Hornick led the conference in assists and assists per set with 790 and 9.4 respectively. Hornick, and was also seventh in the conference in aces per set.

She earned E-8 Player of the Week honors following her play during the week of Sept. 19-25, and was also the American Volleyball Coaches Association GameChanger/AVCA National Division III Women's Volleyball Player of the Week during the same period.

During that span, the Hawks went 3-0 with Hornick dishing out assists on 130 kills, and had 56 assists Sept. 23 against Medaille.

Hornick was the only player to compete in all 91 sets as Hartwick went 8-1 in the conference and 20-5 overall. She led the team in assists (851) and aces (49, and was second in digs (207). She also had 117 ½ service points, 60 kills and 16 blocks.
