OWEGO — Erin McDonald scored a first-half hat trick to highlight Owego’s 5-1 STAC girls soccer victory over Norwich here Tuesday.

The first came at 36:17 with Bella Silvestri picking up the assist.

The next was assisted on by Cadia Fain at 30:25.

McDonald made it 3-0 on a feed from Alex Aubel with 16:49 left in the half.

Cassie Doane got in on the scoring with 12:29 remaining in the half. Silvestri recorded her second assist of the game on the play.

Elli Ryan erased the goose egg from the scoreboard for the Purple Tornado, scoring just over four minutes into the second half.

The Indians added one more goal at 28:14 as Taylor Dalton tallied on a feed from McDonald.

Owego took 33 shots to Norwich’s three and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Olivia Schiraldi made 16 saves in goal for the Tornado and Kylie Grippen had two for the Indians.

Owego (7-2) hits the road Thursday for a rematch with Chenango Valley (7-2).
