CANDOR — Candor defeated a scrappy Watkins Glen team, 3-0, in IAC volleyball action here Monday.
The Indians won the first two sets by close scores of 27-25 and 25-22. They would dominate the final set, however, winning, 25-11.
Phoebe Swartz recorded a double-double, handing out 14 assists and contributing 12 service points, six of them aces. She also had one block assist and two digs.
Grace Handy scored 14 service points, including five aces, and had four kills, one solo block and one block assist. Luci Ray registered seven kills; Janelle Marsh chipped in with four kills; Emma Kelsey had three digs; and Rosie Hurd added two digs.
For Watkins Glen, Aly Gibson had five service points, seven kills, four blocks and four digs; Chelsea Parson posted nine service points, two aces, one block and six digs; added Sarah Jones: six service points one ace, six assists and nine digs; Ava Barber pitched in with five service points, five assists, seven dig; and Jocelyn Sisana had seven service points, four aces and 12 digs.
Candor (1-1) hosts Trumansburg (5-0) Wednesday.
JV: Candor won, 2-0, by scores of 25-10 and 25-19.
