IAC GIRLS SOCCER: CANDOR BATTLES TO DOUBLE OVERTIME TIE (2022-09-18) Tioga County Sports Report
CANDOR — Candor and Newfield battled through two overtimes, but neither could gain the upper hand as they finished in a 2-2 deadlock in IAC girls soccer action here Saturday.
“Every part of our team (offense, midfield, defense, and our goal keeper) played great as a team and worked together,” Candor coach Scott Morse said. “We had a penalty kick against us which was unfortunate, but our team held their heads high and continued to play their best. I am very proud of them.”
Morgan Bensley and Kaitlyn Coppage accounted for the Indians’ goals.
Candor took 31 shots and had five corner kicks. Goalkeeper Kara Morse pulled in 10 saves.
The Indians (1-3-1) host Waverly (5-0) in an IAC South Large School contest Monday.
