OWEGO — CHelsea Rollison scored a pair of goals as Owego defeated Moravia, 4-1, in Section IV Division III field hockey action here Friday evening.

Rollison reverse tipped the ball past the goalie in the second quarter in what Owego coach Emily Crawford described as a “spectacular showing of stick control.”

Rollison added an unassisted tally in the third period.

Jordan Greeno opened the scoring in the first quarter off a feed down the line from Rollison, then assisted on Rollison’s initial goal by feeding her with a hard shot on the Moravia goalie.

Lexi Cheeseman capped the Indians’ scoring as she set herself up in front of the Blue Devils’ goalie to tap a Kennedi Wilson shot across the line in the fourth quarter.

“The entire team stepped up their game, loving their time on the turf, which really changes the pace of the game,” Crawford said.

Gabby Heim scored Moravia’s goal in the fourth.

Owego took 15 shots to Moravia’s two and alos held a 7-2 advantage in penalty corners.and 7 corners.

Mya Lunn had three saves in goal for Owego (4-2) while the Devils’ goalies combined for a dozen.

Owego (4-2) visits Marathon Tuesday.
