LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL: OWEGO RUSSELL FALLS TO T-BURG AT OWEGO 12U TOURNAMENT (2022-07-22)

OWEGO — Trumansburg rode a five-run surge to a 10-4 win over Owego Russell in “C” Division action at the Owego Little League 12U Tournament at Hyde Park here Thursday.

T-burg took advantage of three singles, two errors and a walk to turn a 4-3 deficit into an 8-4 lead in the top of the third inning, then held Owego scoreless the rest of the way.

Owego trailed 3-0 heading into the home half of the third before working its way in front by a run.

With one away, Lucas Mott walked and Anthony Neumuth singled, and with two outs in the book, Trace Hall walked. Then, with two runners on, Logan Rose belted a home run.

Owego stranded five base runners in scoring position. Sullivan Morgan, Evan Canfield and Jackson Barrows reached third in the first, third and sixth innings, respectively. Landon Boccasini was left at second in the second and Barrows was left at second in the third.

Boccasini, Lincoln Miller and Barrows also had one hit each.

Owego meets Maine-Endwell Sonner at 5:30 p.m. this evening (Friday) on Field 3.
