LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL: OWEGO DIEDRICH FALLS TO JC IN OWEGO 12U TOURNAMENT (2022-07-20)

OWEGO — Johnson City Lopez turned a one-run edge into a 9-5 win over Owego Diedrich in Owego Little League 12U Tournament “B” Division action at Hyde Park here Monday.

JC never trailed after scoring three runs in the top of the first inning, but wasn’t able to shake Owego until late in the game.

Owego cut a 4-0 deficit down toa run in the third, but JC rode two doubles, two walks, an error and a hit batter in the fifth to the win.

Ben Harvey and Nolan Card delivered multiple hits for Owego. Harvey went 2-for-2 with two RBI and Card was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Brenden Whigham added a hit, run and RBI; Caden Morrow, Beckett Tirinato and Ryan Diedrich had one hit and one run apiece; Eric Schrader scored a run; and Mason Henderson tacked on a hit. Whigham, Morrow and Diedrich all had doubles.

Owego plays Vestal Burdick Thursday at 8 p.m. on Field 3.
