SECTION IV TRACK & FIELD: S-VE’S WALTER STARTS OUT STRONG AT STATE QUALIFIER (2022-06-01)

ENDICOTT — S-VE’s Elliott Walter appeared ready to punch his ticket to the state meet before  Mother Nature halted the finals of the discus throw at the Section IV Boys Track & Field State Qualifier at Ty Cobb Stadium here Wednesday.

The No. 2 overall seed and favorite in Division II looked like he was landing some pretty impressive throws prior to the postponement of events.

The discus throwers will finish up to start day two then, for those who qualified, proceed to the shot put. Walter is the overall favorite in that discipline.

Meanwhile, the Panthers Karson Kenville qualified for the finals in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.8 seconds. That placed him seventh overall and sixth in Division II, and his time was a personal record.

Demi Mouillesseaux contributed a PR in the 200 preliminaries with a time of 28.16 seconds. She placed 11th overall and ninth in D-2

Tyler Doster competed in the boys 800, but appeared to get spiked heading into the first turn and was never able to run at top speed, placing 21st (7th in D-2) overall in 2:24.03.

Day one events not completed will be held Thursday beginning at 5 p.m.
