OWEGO — Owego scored in every inning to defeat Norwich, 14-2, in six innings here Friday. It’s the Indians’ fifth consecutive victory.
Chelsea Rollison and Taylor Dalton combined to spin a one-hitter, and Jordan Greeno belted an inside-the-park home run for Owego.
With her team leading, 7-2, Greeno smacked the round-tripper to highlight a 5-run burst by the Indians.
She went 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI on the day.
Lauren Gilbert delivered an RBI double in the third inning to give Owego a 3-2 advantage. Gilbert finished the game with a hit, run and RBI for the Indians.
Dalton was 2-for-4 with three runs. In the circle, she struck out eight and walked three in 3 ⅔ innings of no-hit relief.
Sophia Palladino had a hit and three runs; Brookelyn Gaurnier chipped in with a hit, run and two RBI; and Sarah Terry added a hit, run and RBI. Alex Aubel, Ava Brown and Carly Kirtland tacked on a run apiece, while Natalie Donovan had an RBI.
Owego (6-3) plays host for a doubleheader today, facing Horseheads at 10 a.m. and Elmira Notre Dame at 2 p.m. ND and Horseheads play each other at noon. The games are part of the Mary Testa Tournament.
