TIOGA CENTER — Owego moved above .500 with a 6-0 STAC softball victory over Ithaca here Saturday. It was the third straight win for the Indians.

Lauren Gilbert was impressive in the circle, twirling a 3-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and no walks.

She also paced the team at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Taylor Dalton singled to lead off the bottom of the first inning and scored on Gilbert’s one-out single. Her courtesy runner, Chelsea Rollison, stole home to make it 2-0.

Jordan Greeno singled to open the bottom of the fifth, advanced to second on defensive indifference and scored following an error off the bat of Ava Brown.

Following a walk to Sarah Terry, Brown scored on a passed ball then, following a walk to Alex Aubel, Terry scored.

Aubel scored the game’s final run on a single by Lyla Etienne.

Gilbert retired the last five batters to preserve the shutout.

Dalton, Greeno and Aubel each contributed a hit and run to the win, and Etienne added a hit and an RBI. Brown, Rollison and Terry scored one run apiece, and Carly Kirtland tacked on a hit.

Owego (4-3) visits Oneonta Monday.
