ODESSA — Candor erupted-for-15 runs in the top of the fifth inning to open the softball season with a 24-2 victory over Odessa-Montour here Monday.

The visitors rode a six-run second inning to an 8-1 advantage, then added a pair of runs in the third and another in the fourth.

Candor collected nine hits on the day and took advantage of nine walks and seven O-M errors.

Anna Greeno struck out nine, scattered seven hits and issued two walks to pick up the win. She also went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs and five RBI.

Addie Aman was 2-for-4 with four runs and four RBI, and Jillian Holmes went 2-for-5 with two runs and three RBI.

Shelby Swartz scored four runs on four walks and added one RBI.

Candor visits defending IAC champion Elmira Notre Dame Wednesday.
