COLLEGE SWIMMING: OWEGO GRAD KOVALOVSKY RECORDS BESTS AT SUNYAC CHAMPIONSHIPS (2022-03-17)

OSWEGO, N.Y. — SUNY Oswego senior Pete Kovalovsky recorded personal best and season best times at the SUNYAC championships.

He posted a personal best of 58.58 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke preliminaries, and season bests of 24.45 seconds in the 50 freestyle prelims and 2:07.13 in the 200 back prelims. Kovalovsky would advance to the 200 back finals, where he finished 14th (2:08.14).

At SUNY Cortland’s Snowflurries Invitational, he took eight in the 200 medley relay (1:45), 10th in the 200 back (2:15.62) and 12th in the 100 back (1:01.77).

The Owego grad also had several strong swims in tri-meets and duals.

In a tri against Fredonia and Roberts Wesleyan, he finished third in the 100 back (1:01.51), 200 medley relay (1:49.96) and 400 free relay (3:34.96).

He won the 200 free (1:36.56) in a dual meet with RIT and was third in the 200 medley relay (1:54.97).

Against Brockport, he was second in the 100 back (1:01.84), and third in the 200 back (2:15.27), 200 medley relay (1:51.04) and 200 free relay (1:41.66).

Kovalovsky was the runner-up in the 200 back (2:13.14) against Cortland.

In a meet with Buffalo State, he placed second in the 100 back (1:00.64), and third in the 200 medley relay (1:50.97) and 200 free relay (1:41.44).

He took third in the 200 back (2:10.94), 200 medley relay (1:49.04) and 200 free relay (1:36.92) against Potsdam.
