COLLEGE SWIMMING: OWEGO GRAD GAULT’S DIVISION I DEBUT BRINGS SOME SUCCESS (2022-03-09)

Ashleigh Gault enjoyed some success in her debut season at the Division I level.
Among her accomplishments were five victories in two meets against the College of Staten Island.
The Owego grad won three sprints in the second meet — the 50-yard freestyle (27.65 seconds), 50 butterfly (29.81 seconds) and the 50 backstroke (31.28 seconds).
In the first meet, Gault won the 200 individual medley (2:28.7) and swam a leg of the winning 200 free relay (1:53.09). She was also second in the 100 breaststroke (1:22.03).
She was second against Pace University in the 100 back (1:06.23) and the 200 free relay (1:53.72), and was third in the 200 IM (2:25.46).
In a tri-meet with Southern Connecticut State and Saint Rose, Gault swam to third place in the 1,000 free with a time of 11:51.01.
Gault competed on the 200 medley relay quartet which placed third in the B final at the Northeast 10 championships, posting a time of 1:57.23, bettering its preliminary time by more than three seconds.
She was also named to the Northeast 10 Academic Honor Roll for Academic Excellence for the fall semester.
