IAC JV BOYS BASKETBALL: ASHBY LEADS S-VE ROUT OF GROTON (2022-01-19)

GROTON — Ethan Ashby poured in 28 points to lead S-VE to a 65-35 rout of Groton in IAC JV boys basketball crossover action here Friday.

He connected for 10 field goals and went 8-for-11 at the free throw line. John Garrison chipped in with an additional 17 to the victory.

Ashby put up 10 markers and Garrison added six as S-VE grabbed a 19-10 lead after one period of play.

Six different Panthers scored, led by Ashby's six points, to make it as 37-15 cushion at the half.

Ashby tacked on another eight points in the third quarter as the S-VE lead ballooned to 50-23 heading into the final stanza. Garrison accounted for nine fourth-quarter points.

Also contributing to the Panthers' scoring attack were Chris Merrick with eight points, Austin Thigpen with four, and Brian Belanger, Jadyn Brodie, Wyatt Brink and Karson Kenville with two points apiece.
