ONEONTA — Owego has been struggling offensively this season, but on Saturday the Indians were scoring plenty early as they raced past Oneonta, 63-46, in STAC boys basketball action here.

John Bangel scored a half-dozen in the second period, Joe Bangel and John Larter tacked on five points each, and Drew Tavelli knocked down his second 3-pointer of the contest as Owego pushed its advantage to 39-17 at the break.

Oneonta would chip away at the lead in the second half, 14-12 and 15-12, but it was too little too late for the Jackets.

Meanwhile, Palmer would chalk up an additional eight points to share scoring honors with the host's Carter Mackey at 14. Mackey picked up 10 of his points in the fourth quarter.

Joe and John Bangel finished with 13 points apiece, and Tavelli added 10. Larter contributed eight and Ryan Pryor added five more. Larter and Tavelli drained two treys apiece on the day, and Pryor had one.

Liam Blair added 13 to the Jackets' effort.
