IAC BOWLING: SVEC RECOGNIZES SENIORS, SWEEPS MARATHON (2022-01-13)

OWEGO — The SVEC bowling teams recognized four seniors at Owego Bowl Thursday, just before picking up a pair of 4-0 sweeps.

Prior to the match, the Eagles honored girls team members Olivia Bennett, Elly Hatton and Phebe Jackson, and Garrett Lindhorst from the boys team. Jackson was unable to attend the match.

BOYS
SVEC 4, Marathon 0
Kody Floyd rolled a 206 and 204 on the way to a 593 series and Lindhorst shot 232-568.

Calvin Curkendall added a 208-496, Aiden Jackson had a 179-477, Tyler Dunham added a 163-469 and Jason Tufarella tacked on a 112-324.

Caleb Boice led the understaffed Olympians with a 180-440.

The Eagles won by scores of 787-505, 911-443 and 905-545, and captured the total pinfall, 2603-1493 over the undermanned Spartans.

SVEC picked up its 40th win of the season, improving to 40-8, and remains in second place in IAC Division II.

GIRLS
SVEC 4, Marathon 0
The lady Eagles ran their record to 46-2 behind 200 games from Bennett and Kaitlyn Floyd.

Floyd posted a 539 series and Bennett finished with a 517 series.

Janelle Marsh added a 177-488, Calli Marsh had a 182-464, Miranda Langendoerfer contributed a 131-375 and Hatton tacked on a 100-288.

SVEC, now 46-2 on the season, won by scores of 832-424, 787-476 and 764-492 to take the total pinfall, 2383-1392.

Sezja Brooks paced the short-handed Olympians with a166-435.

The Eagles' Kaydee Jackson scored a 127-358 in exhibition.
