Austin Lamb posted decisions to help eighth-seeded RIT knock off top-seeded Coe College (Iowa) in the quarterfinals of the National Wrestling Coaches Association National Duals Thursday.
Post (133 pounds) scored a 4-2 decision against Lauden Edwards while Lamb (165) racked up an 11-4 decision over LJ Richardson as the Tigers won, 27-15.
Another area wrestler contributing to the RIT triumph was Athens grad
Kaidon Winters, who decked AJ Patterson in 3:45 at 157.
RIT, ranked 17th nationally, opened the day with a 33-12 win over Averett University (Virginia).
Lamb wasted little time scoring a victory as he dispatched Anthony Taylor in 57 seconds.
Post and Winters did not wrestle against Averett, but Athens grad
Chris Horton did. He lost by fall in 3:24 at 141.
RIT faces fifth-seeded Wabash College in the semifinals today. The other semi pits North Central (Illinois) and Wisconsin-La Crosse.
