ALL-TIOGA COUNTY FIELD HOCKEY: NEWARK VALLEY'S BENJAMIN LEADS THE WAY; SVEC'S MOUILLESSEAUX, NV'S DOEHRING RECEIVE HONORS (2021-12-02)

Tioga County Sports Report
TIOGA COUNTY — Taylor Benjamin led Newark Valley to the Section IV playoffs, earning the senior the 2021 Tioga County Field Hockey "Player of the Year" honor.

A team captain, she was primarily a right forward, but did play some right midfield when the team was adjusting to quarantine numbers. A third-year varsity player, Benjamin scored 14 goals and handed out 10 assists. Due to her speed, she was a key player in moving the ball up the field offensively.

SVEC sophomore Demi Mouillesseaux started the season on the JV squad, but it didn't take long for coach Abby Gentile to realize her skill set would be beneficial to the varsity team. Her impact would earn her the 2021 Tioga County Field Hockey "Newcomer of the Year" nod. She scored two goals and doled out four assists.

Jessica Doehring guided her charges into the Section IV playoffs, earning her the honor of 2021 Tioga County Field Hockey "Coach of the Year." The Cardinals posted an 8-7 record in Section IV's highly competitive Division 2 this season and were 3-0 against Tioga County opponents.
