CANDOR'S HYNES INDUCTED INTO SECTION IV HALL OF FAME (2021-11-11)

CANDOR — Former Candor standout Erin Hynes has been inducted into the Section IV Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2021.
The 2006 grad led the Indians' volleyball team to four straight New York State Final Four appearances. The team would win state titles in 2002 and 2003, and finish as the runner-up in 2004.
Primarily a setter she could also hit, block and play "tenacious defense." Candor posted a 56-0 record in IAC league play while she was a member. That included a 25-0 victory in which she served all 25 points.
Hynes was a three-time all-state first-team selection, a four-time IAC all-star and a four-time NYS Scholar Athlete Award recipient. During her senior year, she was named IAC Most Valuable Player and All-County Player of the Year.
She was also a member of the varsity golf team at Candor, and competed in USA Volleyball and USA Gymnastics as a Level-9 gymnast.
Hynes competed in Division I gymnastics for James Madison University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Sports Psychology from Ithaca College, where she assisted with the volleyball and gymnastics teams.
An employee of Borg Warner, Hynes is a talent partner in the Human Resources department.
