SECTION IV GIRLS SOCCER: TIOGA COUNTY TRIO HEADED TO POSTSEASON (2021-10-15)

TIOGA COUNTY — Three Tioga County teams have qualified for the Section IV Girls Soccer Championships.

Owego has received the No. 2 seed in Class B and Waverly is seeded fourth. In Class C, Newark Valley is seeded fourth.

First round, quarterfinal and semifinal games will be played at the home of the higher seeds.

The first round is scheduled for Wednesday, quarterfinals are slated for Oct. 23 and the semifinals will be played Oct. 27.

The Class C championship game will be held at Owego's Cristy J. Valvo Stadium. Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. and the Class B title game will follow at 3 p.m.

CLASS B
Only six teams met the qualification standards and the Indians (8-2-1) have earned a bye into the semis. Owego will host the winner of No. 3 Oneonta (9-4) and No. 6 Dryden (10-5) Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m.

Waverly (9-1-3) hosts fifth-seeded Norwich (7-5-2) in the quarters Oct. 23 at 3:30 p.m.

Owego and Waverly are tied in the state rankings at No. 20.

Chenango Valley (12-0), ranked third in the state, is the top seed.

CLASS C
NV (9-4) hosts No. 13 Moravia (8-8) in first-round play Wednesday at 3:30 p.m..

Elmira Notre Dame (9-0-2), ranked 13th in the state, is seeded first.
