SECTION IV GIRLS TENNIS: OWEGO'S JONES, ZACHARY COMPETE AT SECTIONALS (2021-10-14)

APALACHIN — Owego senior Mia Jones and junior Zoe Zachary competed in the Section IV Class B Girls Tennis Championships at Tioga Hills Elementary School here Thursday.

The duo teamed up for the first time this season to represent the Indians in the Doubles division.

They received a first-round bye, then took on Maine-Endwell's Gracelynn Brooks and Amanda Bryla, dropping a 6-1, 6-0 match.

Zachary went 3-8 in singles this fall while Jones was 0-8. Jones, who did not play for Owego before the spring season, played five doubles matches during the spring season, winning twice.
