CONKLIN — Owego's Kaelyn Katchuk broke the pool record in the diving competition as the Indians dropped a 69-63 battle with Susquehanna Valley here Tuesday.

Katchuk, the top-ranked diver in Section IV Class B and No. 3 in the section overall, scored 250.55 points, topping the mark she set here last season.

The freshman was also part of two winning relays. She teamed with Allie Shoen, Emma Pawlak and Maddie Allen to win the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:29.54, and joined the same trio to take the 400 freestyle relay in 4:56.06.

Allen, Pawlak, Shoen and Charlotte Kozak added one individual victory apiece as well.

Allen captured the 200 free in 2:42.19.

Pawlak took the 100 free with a time of 1:09.14.

Shoen touched the wall first in the 100 backstroke, clocking 1:19.03.

Kozak's win came in the 500 free in 8:18.74.

Runners-up for the Indians were Shoen in the 200 individual medley (2:59.82), Pawlak in the 50 free (30.26 seconds) and Katchuk in the 100 butterfly (1:38.22).

Placing third was Kozak in the 200 free (3:07.65).

Allen added a fourth-place finish in the 50 free (32.65 seconds).

The Sabers, with nine competitors on their roster is one of the few schools relatively close in size to Owego, which has five roster members.

The Indians (0-6) close out their regulars season Tuesday at home against Greene.
