SECTION IV GIRLS TENNIS: OWEGO DUO TO COMPETE IN CLASS B TOURNAMENT (2021-10-13)

APALACHIN — Owego's Zoe Zachary and Mia Jones will compete in the Section IV Class B Girls Tennis Tournament at Tioga Hills Elementary School here Thursday.

The duo, which has not played together as a doubles team this season, will pair up to face Maine-Endwell's Gracelynn Brooks and Amanda Bryla in the Doubles quarterfinals at 9 a.m. Brooks and Bryla are seeded second, but are also partnering for the first time this season.

Brooks was 9-2 in singles this season and 6-4 in doubles during the spring. Bryla was 6-6 in singles and 0-1 in doubles this fall.

Zachary went 3-8 in singles this fall while Jones was 0-8. Jones, who did not play for Owego before the spring season, played five doubles matches during the spring season, winning twice.
